Ugh, I hate admitting this, but here I go. In the few months since the Round 2 weigh-in, I have gained close to 10 pounds. I could make excuses — and believe me, I have some great ones — but that doesn’t help take the pounds off.

Let’s just say between traveling, life’s little curve balls and changing jobs (which in turn I’ve found is life-changing), my eating and exercise habits have changed dramatically. As in my eating habits now involve a little too much sugar and fat (and eating way too much fast food) and my exercise habits involved walking to and from my car during the workdays for the past two months.

So, I’m making a commitment to get re-fit. Re-fit is that in-between stage of not completely falling off the wagon, but you’re holding on to it with dear life. Maybe I should make it a @fatroll dictionary term or something. In fact, yes. I’ve just made it one.

And you guys may be wondering where Round 3 went. Well, between said excuses, @fatroll girls going to D.C., new blogs and crazy work schedules — we’ve extended Round 3 to take the time to get back on track and be able to wait until Kristine returns to Austin.

And I’ve made a great first week attempt at getting re-fit. I’ll chat more about it in a future blog, but my new workplace has an on-site gym and 2-mile walking/running trail. So there is no excuse to not work out everyday… unless you forget your sports bra… which explains why I didn’t work out on Wednesday. Haha. I’ll go without socks or a shirt — but no pants and no bra are good reasons to skip a workout.

So with that (and knowing I have a 10-year high school reunion in September), I’m re-committed to getting re-fit!

Per Ashley’s post yesterday, we did a different kind of shopping trip on Saturday. Originally, I wanted to go shopping just to walk around and catch up. But after Ashley but the kabosh on that (she is on a spending freeze), we decided to finally do our run to Buffalo Exchange to try and sell our now too-big clothing for some cash money.

And I came up with the term “reverse shopping.”

Used in a @fatroll sentence: Ashley and I went reverse shopping with our fat clothes and made phat money!

To be clear, this is different than the “reverse shopping” technique described at Urban Dictionary. And actually, after reading their definition, I’m never throwing away a receipt in front of a store again

One who scours the ground or searches thru near-by trash cans at the exit doors of a buzy retail store hoping to pick up a discarded store receipt, enter the store, then collect each item listed, and then proceed straight to the customer service desk, and promptly, effect a fast cash return for the items.

We haven’t done this feature in a while, but this @fatroll phrase is way too awesome to not share with others. It goes something along the lines of this: if you know someone who is working out way too much (cough… Kristine) in an attempt to do (or win) something and risk collapsing or wearing themselves out, they are pulling what is known as a “DJ Tanner.”

As children of the late 80s/early 90s may recall, DJ Tanner is a character from the popular ABC series Full House. Anywho, there was this episode where she was trying to lose weight and wasn’t eating and going to the gym morning, noon and night. Ultimately, she collapses. It’s almost the equivalent of the Jessie Spano incident from Saved by the Bell where she took caffeine pills to stay awake and active. Just substitute caffeine pills for workouts.

Used in a @fatroll sentence (or actual conversation):

Kristine: “Yeah, after our five-mile walk, I’m going to head over to Ballet Austin and do the ballet fitness bootcamp, then yoga or pilates and then the Hip Hop Class. Oh, and then I have flag football.”

Me and Meredith: “Kristine, don’t pull a DJ Tanner.”

About two years ago, I began taking the Pilates class that we talk about frequently.

We talk a lot in this class. Think of it like a happy hour — except instead of drinking 300 calories worth of crap, we burn it, and then feel the effects of it in a Pilates-like hangover for three to four days.

During one of these said discussions, and after reading this post on Perez Hilton mentioning a particular part of Beyonce’s arm, I requested a specific type of workout that could get rid of, well, my vag-arms.

So what exactly are vag-arms? Well, it’s the part of a woman’s body between her boobs and her arms that when your arm is hanging down, well, looks like a vagina.

There. I said it. I’m mortified I even typed that word. But you have to admit, it does sort of look like that.

Here’s a similar term from Urban Dictionary that I’m not even going to type here, because this is quickly going PG-13 fast! I do love this quote from the definition though:

AP (the abbreviated version of the term) is a public preview of private nudity.

So now in Pilates, we request vag-arm workouts so we aren’t giving people that public preview. And I guess that’s the @fatroll sentence… abort!

Okay, first, I’m sorry I haven’t posted in awhile. Work has been a little crazy — and given most of the people who read this blog also work with me — it seemed a bit odd to be complaining about workload while writing here.

But I need a @fatroll creative outlet, so here it is.

Today’s @fatroll Dictionary term comes to us from a Women’s Health research/article I read a few weeks ago. A so-called urban myth started by Men’s Health led its female counterpart to seek out the truth. The story/definition goes like this:

You’re working out in the gym, probably doing a ridiculous amount of sit-ups, and suddenly, you give yourself an orgasm — or in this case, a coregasm – ”due to a combination of women bearing down on pelvic muscles while at the same time squeezing her thighs together (which may stimulate her clitoris) as she brings them upward.”

Backed by OBGYNs and other people with Ph.D behind their name, it sounds pretty legit, right?

Well, after talking with both my Pilates instructor and personal trainer, I’m less inclined to believe this is even possible. My trainer has never seen it happen (and she lives at the gym) and my rad Pilates instructor, well, she put it so eloquently that it’s our @fatroll sentence:

“If coregasms were even possible by doing ab routines, I’d have people lining out the door.”

And honestly, she would. I’d probably be the first in line.

This means, “When someone is thin and looks great in clothes, but is all flabby underneath” OR “when a person is thin, yet does not eat healthy or take care of themselves. They think they don’t need to watch the junk they eat because they are thin. They can be more unhealthy then an overweight person.”

Used in a sentence: “Well, she looked good at the bar, but when I got her clothes off, she was totally skinny-fat.”

Used in a @fatroll sentence: “I wish I was skinny-fat. At least I would have the appearance of being skinny.”

I’m starting to think some of these terms just randomly find me. Yes, I know we have already covered off on the now beloved term “muffin top” and its variant “whale tail.” But the following usage is worth a @fatroll mention.

UMT, or “ultra muffin top” appears to be a word used by men to describe women whom they normally would not hook up with, but because they are desperate, end up with them.

Usage scenario, taken from an Examiner.com article:

For example, a Las Vegas hotel lobby, at 3am, contains ample numbers of men looking to get laid. Because it’s already 3am, the lobby contains a very low supply of women willing to fulfill the demand. Best case scenario in such desparate times is UMT — Ultra Muffin Top.

There is no @fatroll sentence to apply this term to. We will never be a UMT, and we encourage our readers not to allow men to label them and be used in a UMT scenario as such. Either lose the weight friends, or buy your jeans a size up. Be the hottie you know you can be.
