Lose Weight, Gain Money!
After Thanksgiving Jenni and I returned to Austin last Saturday and of course rushed to each others’ sides. Scarily enough, if we go a week without seeing each other we definitely notice it. Am I right Jen? A little sick, I know.
Anyway, so we got back in town and both said we were going to be good calorie-wise and money-wise. I consider this my post Thanksgiving resolution. What do we do if we’re not going to eat or go shopping? Normally we would probably pop in some version of Pride and Prejudice, but on this fine day we decided to go to Buffalo Exchange to sell some of our nicer pieces of clothing that no longer fit us.
Jenni had one heaping bagful and I had three. We walked in literally dragging the clothes behind us and then proceeded to wait 20 minutes to lay our beautiful pieces at the altar of the BE buyers. Jenni went first and was able to sell all of two pieces for a total of $10. WIN! Hey, $10 is $10. And, I would like to take this moment to thank Jen for passing down so many beautiful designer pieces to me instead of selling them. My closet is so much richer thanks to her!
I was next up to bat with my three ridiculous bags. With each piece that was pulled out I told the poor buyers where I bought it, how much I paid, and how many times I had worn it (actually, this was just for the stuff that I bought earlier this year and had only worn once)…all while lamenting the loss of some of my favorites. In the end, I was able to sell all but about 5 articles of clothing. A huge WIN, as any of you who have approached the BE altar know. Most people have the same experience as Jen so selling more than 2 and a half bags of clothing is major.
Grand total: $229.25
Heck yeah! I was hoping to sell a few pieces and make 50 bucks so I was pleasantly surprised to have such a successful trip. WIN! WIN! WIN!
So consider going by Buffalo Exchange before you toss out your clothing, purses, shoes, or accessories. You never know what you might get for them! Note: They especially like jeans, t-shirts, vintage, and designer items.
