AshleySo I run, I play the occasional outdoor recreational sport, and I live in Austin, TX…oh, and I don’t own a pair of shorts.  Yup!  I run in 100 degree weather with full length pants on.  [Insert the crazy look that everyone gives me here]

We all have that area of our body that we’re just not comfortable with.  Some don’t like their tummy, others it’s their arms, but for me, it’s my legs…more specifically my thighs/hips.  This area is definitely not my selling point and for that reason I don’t like to wear shorts.  Now I definitely am a girly girl and love to wear skirts and dresses, but shorts are not a consideration for entry into my wardrobe.

Ladies, do you ever find yourself yanking at your shorts between your legs because they keep getting caught up in your crotch (yeah, I said it!)?  Well, this is me whenever I put on a pair of shorts…not comfortable and certainly not lady-like.

So I have gone on this rant about shorts because I recently found a line of clothing that makes a great pair of pants I really like.  I bought a pair of Dude Girl pants at Betty Sport not too long ago because a) they were on sale, b) the POOLE4_SMword “dude” is in the name and anyone that knows me knows that I love that word (and subsequently The Big Lebowski), and c) they were seriously some of the most comfortable pants I have ever slipped on.

The style I like is the Poole Pant, a classic flared design that flatters any and all shapes.  Dude Girl’s Tactel and Lycra material is exactly what you want against your skin when you’re active.  It’s lightweight, breathable, and just plain feels good.  As a former textile major, I am all about fabrics and how they feel so I am very particular about what fabrics I like.

Not only do I like the styles of Dude Girl, I like the company’s philosophy.  As soon as I embarked upon their website I knew they were a line for me.  The owners proudly boast that they “are an apparel company geared toward athletic souls who like to play hard, get dirty, laugh, and share the joy of sport.”  Not to mention that the story of the original Dude Girl, the owner’s grandmother, is a fun read.

If you’re into yoga, running, cycling, or just want something cute and comfy to lounge in, check out Dude Girl.

Oh, and be sure to take a look at their Breast Cancer Awareness tee’s.  Very cute and clever!
